Egypt Airport Curfew causes flights cancellation by Egypt Air
The national airline of Egypt, Egypt air has cancelled all its flights to and from Egypt during the curfew hours. The airline announced it yesterday, that all of its domestic and international flights scheduled during the curfew hours will not be operated.
However, the carrier will be accommodating the passengers in new schedules, refunds and rerouting in accordance with the airline’s standard policy. The airline has stated that it will be cancelling all flights scheduled between the specified curfew hours from 3 pm to 8 pm (1300-1600 GMT) from Monday. Also the carrier has stated that it will be changing some of its flight times, in order to abide by the curfew restrictions.
Egypt air advises its customers to contact the airline for up to date schedules before leaving home. The carrier offers direct flights to Cairo, from London Heathrow airport as well as flights to Sharm el Sheikh, Luxor and Alexandria. The capital of Egypt, Cairo is the centre of escalating tensions; however the protests in Luxor and Alexandria are also heating up.
Many other airlines as well, have issued special notifications and press releases advising air travelers to contact their carrier for up to date information before traveling and not to travel to Egypt unless essential.
