Palenque is also one of the famous place to visit the archeological ruins of the Mayans, Palnque was a great Mayan city and these ruins date back to 100 BC to its fall 800 AD, after the fall of this city it was absorbed in the forest and was forgotten by the rest of the world but now it has been exhumed and restored, These ruins attract thousands of visitors and the city of Palenque is now once again famous in the world although not as a city but as a superb archeological site. Palenque is a small site than other sites like the Tikal and Copan, but Palenque has some of the finest artwork and remains of the Mayas that is nowhere else to be seen like the marvelous sculptures, Finest architecture, and the specialty of Maya’s the bas-relief cravings. That makes it more popular amongst the tourists and travelers.
Reaching Palenque is easy the first step is to take a flight to Mexico the closest airport is Villa Hermosa airport and from the airport you can either travel by bus or have taxi to Palenque a taxi would be better as it takes about 3 hours by car.
