Joao Pessoa – The Unforgettable Brazil

Various cities in Brazil, specially Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo offer various attractions but there is a distinct city in the state of Paraiba, named Joao Pessoa, It is the eastern most city in the Americas, locally called “Ponta do Seixas” meaning the eastern most point, and sometimes called “ The city where the Sun rises first” this city not only has the beautiful beaches, marvelous architecture, historic buildings and attractive nightlife but also has the title of world’s second greenest city. Joao Pessoa is the capital of Paraiba, which is a state in the northeastern region of Brazil. This city is one of the oldest cities in Brazil and is home to many Theaters, Convention centers and Auditoriums and is an important city being the center of political, cultural and economic activities.
Espaco Cultural is the greatest arts center in the state of Paraiba and in the northeast of Brazil. It is an example of modern architecture and development in the region, including a theater; art gallery, planetarium and a live concert plaza make this building a great venue for cultural activities. Construction of another complex “ Estacao Ciencia, Cultura e Artes” is in progress the name means Science, Culture and Arts station. The famous Brazilian Architect “Oscar Niemeyer” designed this Complex. This complex is designed to provide a wide range of educational (relating to science and research) as well as cultural activities for the nation.
Travelers have a wide choice of airports in the country and can directly book Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia or Sao Paulo flights from most of the European countries. Presidente Castro Pinto International Airport serves this city. This airport is located about eight kilometers from the downtown area of the city and serves for some of the international flights to Brazil and domestic flights, connecting the city with rest of the country.
