America’s Cleanest City Miami

Miami is a beautiful city located on the Atlantic coast in southeastern Florida. It is the most populous place in Florida and is the ninth most populated city in the United States.

In 2010 Miami was ranked 7th in the United States in terms of commerce, culture, fashion, finance, entertainment and education. According to Forbes Magazine, besides being densely populated this city was given the title of “America’s Cleanest City” because of the clean drinking water, unpolluted fresh air through out the year, clean and wide city streets and many green spaces and parks in the city. This city has a very strong economy and is the richest city in the United States.

Miami is also home to many banks and companies both national and international, some of the best hospitals, medical centers and research institutes in Florida are also to be found in this city.

Civic Center is a district in the neighborhood of the city just at a five minutes drive from downtown Miami and is nick named as the “Health District” because it is mainly composed of hospitals, clinics, healthcare centers, research institutes and government offices. Jackson Memorial Hospital is the oldest hospital in the region dating back to 1915; it is the main public hospital of Miami. University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine is also situated in this Health district.

Miami is a city with a very vibrant culture and is home to many recreational places such as museums, parks, arts centers and theaters. It is home to Florida Grand Opera and Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, the second largest arts center in the United States. Miami is a perfect place for outdoor activities throughout the year because of its tropical weather. The city has a number of rivers, canals and the Atlantic Ocean that allows tourists to enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving and other water sports as well as numerous spectacular parks; some of the famous parks include Bicentennial Park, Bayfront Park, Fairchild tropical Park and Watson Island.

Moreover, Port of Miami is one of the major cruise ship ports in the world and is also sometimes called the “Cruise Capital of the World”.

This hustling and bustling city is well served by the Miami International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, serving for more than 35 million passengers a year. It is the second largest airport in the United States on terms of entry for foreign air Passengers. This airport serves as hub for many international airlines having direct flights to Miami.
