Rotorua is a city in the North Island of the country and is a famous and most visited tourist destination in the country. This city has an estimated population of about 70,000 this city is a major attraction for both international and domestic tourists, and tourism industry is the largest industry of the city. The city is famous for its geothermal activities sourced by an active volcano named Rotorua Caldera. This city features many geysers and hot mud pools. These hot bubbling pools are the major source of attraction for many of the tourists along with the Mount Tarawera and Kuirau Park.

Kuirau Park is located at the west end of the central city this park has hot water and mud pools scattered all around, visitors can soak there feet in these pools. This city is nicknamed as sulphur city due to the rotten egg like smell of the emission of hydrogen sulphide from these bubbling mud ponds. This city is very rich in sulphur deposits.

Government Gardens is a public park located by the lake Rotorua, this also a major tourist spot in the city some of the attractions offered by these gardens are bowling green, a spa and swimming pools along with the Rotorua Museum of Art and History.

This city’s main industries is the tourism industry and for the development of this industry concerning departments have taken special measures like availability of best facilities including accommodation, food items and transportation. This city has an international airport making it more accessible for the tourists. Rotorua International Airport is located about 9 kilometers from the city center. And serves for both international and domestic flights to Rotorua.
