Hurricane Tomos Update – Flights will now operate after clearance given
The Government in St Lucia has recently notified British Airways that flights to St Lucia or from the city, can now be operated. The restrictions in place due to Hurricane Tomos have been lifted today November 06, 2010. Many other airlines including UK’s top carrier that offers flights between Caribbean and Britain have been permitted to reinstate flight operations.
Part of the plan is to offer rebooking and rerouting facility to travelers affected by the Hurricane Tomos restriction in place earlier this week. The customer guide line has also been extended for travel up to and including 14th November 2010.
However, travelers are advised to obtain up to date information from the respective airline and the concerned authorities or FCO offices. After the restrictions are being lifted, many hotels are reopening for travelers in St Lucia.
British Airways has also offered that any passengers due to travel to/from St Lucia up to and including 14th November 2010 who no longer wish to travel, can either Rebook to travel a later date on a BA flight to the same destination. This will be at no additional cost to the customer, and if required, the validity of the ticket may be extended. The second choice provided to British Airways customers is to Rebook their flights to an alternative destination in the Caribbean.
